Valerie Head-Garcia
Valerie has been dancing for as long as she can remember. Starting off with ballet and tap at an early age, she eventually fell in love with modern and contemporary dance. For most of her life, she danced at Northern California Dance Conservatory (NCDC), where she trained in these genres as well as jazz, hip hop, musical theatre, and pointe. After graduation, she trained as a dance major at the University of California, Irvine, where she further explored her creativity. She is now pursuing her business degree at Folsom Lake College in hopes of contributing to the world of dance studios and conservatories in her future.
Valerie thoroughly enjoys teaching and choreographing for growing dancers as well as her peers. She currently teaches at various dance schools and studios in the Placer County and Sacramento area, and is thrilled to be teaching through other programs for the up and coming performing youth as well. She is also the current choreographer for the Granite Bay High School theatre department, where she has choreographed and helped direct their productions of Chicago, Urinetown, and Othello.
Valerie is forever grateful to be able to construct and express her creativity through her love of dance, and is infinitely thankful to her family and loved ones for their never-ending support. She would like to thank Twopoint4 for the opportunity to delve into the complex world of performance, take it apart, and offer it to others in a new and beautiful artistic format.
